To control any process you need to measure. With the X-Viber you choose the parameter you want to measure and a frequency range.

But it offers much more than that.

  • Route
  • Total level
  • Envelope
  • Bearing Condition value
  • Analysis
  • Temperature
  • Speed

Introduction

This instrument is designed for Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance work without the need for frequency analysis and "expert" interpretation.

X-Viber has two main functions: Route and Measurement

Route
With this function you can download from the X-Trend PC software. Measure 999 different measuring points and transfer the data back to the X-Trend software for trend analysis and comparison with pre-set alarm values. The l°Cation (address) of each measuring point is shown on the display.

In route you can measure and store:
The total vibration level within the selected frequency range
The total Bearing condition value within the selected frequency range
The total Envelope value within the selected frequency range
The speed of the machine (RPM)
Bearing temperature

Measurement
This is a function that allows you to take measurement on the machine but the values cannot be stored. With this function you can make a simple analysis of the cause of the vibration using vibration level, frequency and RPM.

In measurement you can measure:
The total vibration level within the selected frequency range
Analysis of the five (5) highest vibration levels and frequencies
The total Bearing condition value within the selected frequency range
The total Envelope value within the selected frequency range
The speed of the machine (RPM)
Bearing temperature

This instrument allows the maintenance technician to learn condition monitoring as a step-by-step pr°Cess. First they learn how to establish a route of the plant equipment. Next they learn how and where to measure. They need to understand what they are measuring and decide if it is appropriate for the machine unit. They can now trend these measurement results and by using simple vibration charts, the ISO standard and bearing charts they can make a knowledgeable decision on the condition of the machine.

Next step is to use the measure function. They will learn how the machine speed and the vibration frequencies are related to each other. By using this knowledge they can perform simple vibration analysis. They can even use the instrument for balancing.

It's all about risk management. The cost of vibration analysis instruments makes it a risky business. The low cost of the X-Viber has removed that risk.
