Laser Shaft Alignment Training
|
Sometimes the perception with some tradesmen is that because
the process of using a laser system is simple then so is the
installation process. This is not the case. If the up front work is
not done correctly they are probably not getting the results they
think they are getting with the laser. So again we focus on
pre-alignment checks, soft foot measurement and correction, and
moving the machine unit.
Also by showing the participants the operating principles
behind the laser they get a better understanding of the
whole process.

The Laser alignment course we offer is also very flexible. We offer it as a one or
two day program. We will expand on this depending on the instrument and the
programs you have.
We also train on all the other major makes and models of laser systems
These are some of the
programs we cover for shaft alignment.

Programs included in system D505
- Horizontal 9-12-3 - For the alignment of horizontal machines by the 9-12-3 method.
- Soft Foot
- With this program you check so that the machine is resting on all feet. Shows which foot should be corrected (if necessary)
- EasyTurn TM
- For the alignment of horizontal machines. Allows complete measurement with only 40 degree rotation of the shafts.
- Cardan - Shows the angular errors and adjustment value on cardan-shaft-coupled/center-offset machines. (Requires accessory
fixtures.)
- Vertical
- For measurement of vertical and flange mounted machines.
- Machine Train
- For the alignment of two to ten machines in a row (nine couplings). The entire alignment can be followed live on the
screen.
- RefLock TM
- Any pair of feet can be locked/set as a reference. This is a sub-function in the machine train program.
- Thermal Growth Compensation
- Compensates for difference in thermal growth between machines. This is a sub-program in the
machine train program.
- Offset and Angle
- Shows center offset and angular error between two shafts, for example. Also suitable for dynamic measurements.
- Values -
Shows live readings from S- and M-unit. Can be used for shaft
alignment, straightness measurement and dynamic measurement. up to
four detectors can be connected in series and be zeroed
individually.

Belt and Chain Alignment
Training
 | Belt and Chain alignment is important. Traditional methods of alignment are time consuming, inaccurate and also sends the message to the tradesmen that "close enough is good enough".
Now with the development of laser systems for belt and chain alignment the process has been greatly simplified. As with all new technologies there is a learning period before your tradesmen become proficient in a new technique. We offer a two (2) hour training package which is often added to the laser shaft alignment program.
Some of the points covered are: sheave run out,
soft foot measurement, using a stroboscope, I.S.O. Standard,
parallel and angular offset, frame twist, calibration tolerance
etc. |
