The D630 Extruder measurement and alignment system. 

We can see the results of extruder tube mis-alignment through high amperage draw from the motor. The greater the mis-alignment the higher the draw. Obviously it takes more power to drive something that is mis-aligned. The resulting high level of torque is the silent killer, not only for the tube and screw but also the gearbox and motor. To get the full life expectancy from your machine set they need to be installed correctly. The tube has to be straight and the gearbox has to be aligned to the tube.

The D630 system is designed to measure straightness of the tube as well as the alignment between the gearbox and tube. This well-thought-out designed system ensures that the measurement procedure is quick and accurate. It truly is a cost effective solution to mis-alignment. The power savings alone will pay for it.

The small detector measures tube diameters down to 1.58" (40 mm). Handles up to 150 measurement positions. With the built in inclinometer you can take a profile measurement at any angle of the tube. By taking two measurements opposite each other you can get an indication of the amount of wear in the tube.
