The D450 Shaft Alignment System
This technically advanced system was designed specifically to be "easy to use". The principal of measurement is based on the reverse dial alignment method, which is the most accurate form of dial alignment.
The system consists of two small measuring detectors, a hand-held display unit, cables and mounting brackets.
Each of the rugged anodized aluminum Position Sensing Detectors (PSD) has a laser beam and a beam detector. The detector is protected by a sliding bulls-eye cover when not in use. By using the dual (two) beams and the closed target cover you can perform a rough alignment. This is a very useful feature, especially when aligning a long shaft. They also have built-in sprit level vials that can be levelled in both the horizontal and vertical planes. This is an excellent feature when performing an open coupling alignment or when only one shaft can be moved. Programs and Functions of the D450
Horizontal 9-12-3 - For the alignment of horizontal
machines by the 9-12-3 method.
Soft Foot - With this program you can check so that the machine is resting on all feet. Shows which foot should be corrected (if necessary). Thermal Growth Compensation - Compensates for difference in thermal growth between machines. This is a sub- program in the machine train program. Tolerance Check - Checks the offset and angle values towards selected tolerance. Shows graphically when the alignment is within tolerance. Sub-function. Measurement Value Filter - Advanced electronic filter function for accurate measurement results, even in bad measuring conditions like air turbulence and vibration. Sub-function. To operate
You simply mount the measuring detectors onto the shafts with
the universal brackets. Connect the display unit with the push on and
pull off cables and follow the on-screen directions.
You will be asked to input the tape measured distances from between the detectors, and to the centre of the coupling, as well as the front and back feet of the machine you choose to move. You turn the detectors (Shafts) and record the values at the 9, 12 and 3 o'clock positions when prompted by the display unit. The misalignment results and corrections are now displayed live time on the screen. Horizontal and vertical positions for the movable machine are shown both digitally and graphically with "live" values.
It couldn't be easier.
Vertical plane shown at the top of the screen shows only two feet. You need to lift or lower the machine to make corrections.
Horizontal plane shown at the bottom of the screen shows all four feet (looking down). You need to move the machine back and forth to make corrections. The Measurement Results
